Procreo means -
'to create', 'to produce',
or 'to design'.
Mobilis Procreo is a transmission planning and equipment provisioning
application that is used to store information about connections within the
network in a three-layer hierarchy; link, bearer and circuit.
Main Features
To create network elements using pre-defined types
Holding a planned parts list against each network element
Record changes or upgrades to parts
Plan and provision links and circuits
Create links, bearers and circuits using pre-defined types
Plan and manage network capacity
Record basic contractual details against leased capacity
Supports SDH, PDH, ATM, Frame Relay
Promoting Efficiency
Procreo overcomes network operating efficiency and capacity maximization by utilizing modern technologies to allow all the information to be stored in a single database repository. This can be accessed by any amount of concurrent users thus allowing vital information to be shared, therefore highlighting facts and aiding decision-making.
The availability of information within Procreo enables more efficient use of capacity assets within the network. Reports can quickly identify where transmission links are under-used, or where spare capacity is unavailable and estimates of costs are required for expansion projects.
This information improves decision making across all departments by providing comparisons between operational priority and impacts on budget. For example, it is far better to use available existing capacity than build new links; visibility of information means infrastructure costs will be reduced as existing capacity assets are used effectively.
Decisions for all types of network upgrades can be made accurately as the transmission budgets will be correctly assessed.
Procreo promotes efficiency within the operational management of the transmission network. The implementation of a dedicated environment and appropriate business rules for transmission planning, such as equipment compatibility and divisions of capacity, increase the quality and efficiency of the operator’s processes within the transmission area, ultimately reducing operational costs.
A telecommunications network encompasses many different transmission technologies and the drive of consumer demand for services will continue to see the transmission layers expand and diversify.
Procreo is a flexible toolset designed to record the infrastructure and configuration information for all transmission technologies in a single database repository. This enables full visibility of all connectivity and capacity assets for management information.
Procreo provides an environment designed for recording the complete transmission infrastructure, both physical and logical.
Procreo supports transmission business processes including:
Procreo allows the complete transmission hierarchy and all connectivity within the network to be documented. The product is able to do this through the capture of link, bearer and circuit data.
Links represent the physical layer of the network while bearers and circuits represent the logical. In conjunction with our Procreo application, the links information provides the complete physical connectivity of the network and stores information about port and rack wiring, available physical capacity at each site and the medium of the transmission layer. The bearer and circuit information provides the complete logical overview showing capacity assigned to services and the remaining unused capacity for all transmission sections.
Procreo provides the following benefits:
Procreo is part of the Consistel’s Mobilis software family designed to fit the needs of the telecommunications industry.
It is a modular application and can be installed independently or as a component within the overall Mobilis architecture.
Integration with Mobilis Constructo enables the visibility of the transmission workflow relating to new site builds; while integration with Mobilis Operis allows for maintenance tasks to be scheduled for transmission equipment and completes the physical picture of the network by including connectivity information for equipment from the radio network layer and software application elements.
