Byron Askin
Byron Askin joined JAFCO Asia in 1998 and is currently Senior
Director with the responsibility for investment activities in
South Asia. He has worked in the Asia-Pacific region for more
than 14 years, involved in venture capital, M&A, and sales and
marketing.
Byron founded JAFCO Asia’s venture business in Israel and India,
having made investments in Allot Communications (NASDAQ: ALLT),
Cyota (acquired by RSA Security), Midbar Technologies (acquired
by Macrovision), Morecom (acquired by Liberate) and several
others. He is currently leading JAFCO Asia’s investment efforts
in the rapidly growing India market.
Present board memberships include Vignani Pvt Ltd, MicroQual
Techno Pvt Ltd, Consistel Pte Ltd and Inzign Pte Ltd.
Prior to joining JAFCO Asia, Byron was with the Whirlpool
Corporation for 10 years where he was an early employee in the
company’s Asian expansion. Working out of New Delhi, Shanghai and
Hong Kong, Byron led due diligence and integration efforts for
several acquisitions in India and China.
Byron is an American citizen. He received his Master’s degree in
Business Administration and his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial
and Operations Engineering, both from the University of Michigan
in the United States. Byron is a member of the Singapore
Institute of Directors.
